Christmas Time (sort of)

I am so excited for next week to be here. I had been thinking about this and the last time all my kids were together for anything was Christmas of 2004. Five years ago. We won't all be together for Christmas and I don't know if Jan and I will ever get to experience that again but this is good; very, very good.

Jan

Jan is doing well after her surgery.

She had to have her nose rebuilt since she couldn't breathe through it like she was supposed to. They fell behind at the hospital so instead of getting in at 11:00am like she was supposed to it was after 3:00pm when they took her. The surgery was more involved than planned but all went well and the doctor achieved the desired results. She will be laid up for a week or so. We are taking good care of her and friends of hers sent a beautiful flower arrangement.

My daughter loves to ride

My daughter Katie loves to ride her horse Buster.
She has been riding since she was a little girl and has tried everything with her gelding. She did dressage, hunter/jumper, and now belongs to a riding club and does all the events they have. She barrel races and team pens and does it all on the same horse. She is as accomplished rider as I have ever known.
I just love that girl to death and am so proud of her.

Isn't she beautiful?

Dad's Birthday

We went down to visit momma and dad on the weekend of Oct. 17 & 18 for my dad's birthday.
He is now 74 years old and doing just fine. We drove up to the property and finished winterizing the 5th wheels on Saturday and then stopped in Salina for some good mexican food.
On Sunday we drove up Nine Mile Canyon and connected to the Great Western Trail and then to the Skyline Drive and finally back down to Ephraim. It was a lot of fun and we got to see some beautiful country.
